Have A Little Faith

We just had the unique opportunity to share our        insights on our secrets to a successful business on the Mental Toughness Blog website (see the link below). http://tinyurl.com/399t6ru

For  us, it all comes down to three things:  Faith, Focus  and Fun.

Faith

You may not realize it but within you are unique gifts and talents that can and will inspire others.  Your first step is to really have faith in yourself, in your skills and abilities.  If you’ve ever been an employee someone was willing to pay you for what you bring to the table.  Why is it any different when it comes to being in business for yourself?  People will be want what you have to offer because of who you are.  People buy from people they know, people they like and people they trust.  When you have faith and confidence in your offering, people will feel that strength and follow your lead.

Focus

It’s time to clean out the clutter not only in your physical life but in the space between your ears.  If you’re going to accomplish your goals whether they be business, personal, financial, or spiritual, you’ve got to remove the distractions.  Anything that pulls you away from what you want is not worth doing or having or being.  Do you have a clear vision of where you are and where you want to be?  Do you have a timeline for getting there and a daily plan of action to keep you on course?   Once you put these elements in place you’ll quickly find out what doesn’t fit and take action to remove the distraction!

Fun

One of the big reasons we both left our careers was that we weren’t having fun anymore.  We had lost our passion for our jobs and knew it was time to move onto something else.  It is easy though to fall back into patterns of working all the time especially when you’re self-employed.  Find time to put the fun in your day.  Take a break, hit the golf course, play some tennis.  Plan a get-away that may incorporate your business but also give you a chance to experience life.  We recently conducted a training in Seattle.  Due to the time it takes to travel from the East Coast to the West Coast we went out a day early.   We wandered through Pike’s Market, had a great lunch at an eclectic restaurant, took a ferry ride across Puget Sound.  During that time, we conducted business from our cell phones, connected with brand new people and had the time of our lives. Make your life a rich adventure and make sure you love what you do so you never work a day in your life!
